My Personal Journey to Holistic Health & Healing

When I was in my late teens, I started experiencing a “bad back,” which only got worse when I began working as a care assistant in 2006. At the time, I blamed it on poor posture and the physical demands of the job. But looking back, I now realise it wasn’t just about lifting heavy things, it was much deeper than that.

 

I struggled with depression, anxiety, and being a chronic over-thinker and people-pleaser. All of these emotional and mental challenges, I believe, were at the root of my physical pain.

 

I’m sharing this because I want you to know that pain and injury are rarely just physical. There are often mental, emotional, and social factors at play, and healing can only happen when we look at the whole person, not just the symptoms.

 

After seeking chiropractic care to address my back pain, which was affecting my life in many ways, I decided to pursue a Master’s Degree in Chiropractic at the University of South Wales. I graduated with Distinction in 2012 and have spent the years since helping others work through their own pain and challenges.

 

In the early days of my career, I focused mainly on the physical side of healing. But as I gained experience, my approach shifted. I now take a holistic view of health, considering not just physical symptoms but also emotional and mental aspects of a person’s life. I truly believe that healing happens when we address the interconnectedness of the body, mind, and spirit.
